Legal Information
Transparency and trust matter. Below you'll find the policies and terms that govern your use of The Gentle Reset.
Privacy Policy
Our approach
The Gentle Reset is designed with privacy in mind. Customers create an account so purchased Companion App access can be securely linked to them, but we do not build a wellbeing or behavioural profile from the feelings, journal writing or affirmation choices used inside the app.
The Companion App is a supportive and educational wellbeing space. It is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, medical treatment or crisis support.
The Companion App is currently intended for adults aged 18 years and over. We do not knowingly invite or target children under 18 to create a Companion App account.
If we become aware that personal information has been provided through an account belonging to a person under 18, we may take reasonable steps to review or remove the account or information where appropriate and lawful.
Account and access information
To provide secure Companion App access, we may hold limited account and access information such as your email address, Firebase user identifier, purchase and entitlement status, purchase reference, relevant transaction timestamps and access status.
Firebase Authentication is used for account creation, sign-in, email verification and password-reset functions. Password handling is managed by Firebase. The Gentle Reset does not receive or store your plain-text password.
The app uses purchase and entitlement records to determine whether an authenticated account has access to protected Companion App resources.
Purchases and transactional emails
Purchases are processed through our ecommerce and payment providers, including Hostinger and Stripe. Payment-card details are handled by those payment providers and are not stored in the Companion App database.
Limited purchase information needed to confirm and provide access may be recorded by the Companion App's backend.
We use Resend to deliver transactional Companion App access emails. This requires the relevant customer email address and email-delivery information to be processed for that purpose.
Daily Check-In
Choosing how you're feeling stays in the app's temporary browser state. It is not intentionally stored in our database, sent to an AI service or used to create a personal wellbeing history. It disappears when you refresh the page or navigate away.
Journal With Me
Journal writing is designed to stay private while you use the Journal. Your writing is held temporarily in your browser while the Journal is open.
Journal text is not sent to an AI provider or to our server to generate a reflection, and it is not intentionally saved by us as a journal history or draft.
When you release your writing, the real entry is cleared. Leaving or refreshing the Journal page also returns the writing space blank.
Affirmations
Affirmations do not require you to type personal information. You choose a feeling and the app displays an approved, pre-written affirmation from that feeling's set.
Nothing about that affirmation choice is intentionally generated by AI, sent to an AI service or recorded by us as a personal wellbeing profile.
Favourite affirmations
When you deliberately tap the heart, that affirmation is saved in your browser's local storage on that device.
It may remain there through refreshes, navigation and browser/device restarts until you remove it or clear your browser or site data.
Favourite affirmations are not intentionally sent to us or to an AI service, and they do not sync automatically to your other devices.
Because they remain in the browser, another person using the same browser profile or device may be able to see them. Browser local storage should not be treated as a secure encrypted vault.
Resource and workbook downloads
Protected workbook access is checked using your authenticated account and purchase entitlement.
The app does not intentionally create a personal reading or download-history profile. Ordinary technical information associated with delivering a file, such as request information, IP address, browser information or requested resource, may nevertheless be processed or logged by hosting, authentication, payment or content-delivery providers in the normal operation of their systems.
Service providers
The Companion App relies on third-party technology and service providers including Cloudflare, Google Firebase, Hostinger, Stripe and Resend.
These providers perform functions such as hosting, authentication, secure backend requests, protected file delivery, ecommerce, payment processing and transactional email delivery.
Those providers may process or store technical or personal information using infrastructure located in Australia or other countries in accordance with their own privacy policies and systems.
We do not control every technical log or retention period maintained independently by those providers.
We do not intentionally add advertising or behavioural advertising tracking to the Companion App, and we do not sell your journal words or wellbeing choices.
Security
We take reasonable steps to limit the information collected by the Companion App and to protect account and access information.
However, no internet service, browser, hosting platform or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for keeping your account password private and for signing out when using a shared device.
Retention and deletion
Account, purchase, entitlement and transactional records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide access, maintain security, resolve support or payment issues, meet accounting or legal obligations, and operate the service.
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you or request correction or deletion where appropriate.
Some transaction, security, accounting or legal records may need to be retained even after an account or access record is otherwise removed.
Your choices and contact
You can choose not to enter journal text you would rather keep entirely to yourself, remove saved favourite affirmations, clear browser or site data, and sign out of your account.
For a privacy question, request for access or correction, or concern about how your information is handled, contact:
We may update this Privacy Policy if the way the Companion App handles information changes.
